Overview
Ave Maria School was founded in 1982 by Mrs. Mary Ama Kyem Antwi, former Assistant Director from the Ghana Education Service (GES). The school started as a nursery school with just 3 children and 2 teachers and gradually grew to include primary school and Junior Secondary School. Ave Maria is a co-educational day and boarding school with boarding facilities for both boys and girls. Currently the school has over 900 students, aged 6 months to 15 years, including 120 boarders with 105 teaching and non-teaching staff. The school follows the GES curriculum and has plans to adopt the Montessori Method for nursery children. Ave Maria School focuses on strong academic achievement, a healthy school environment and continuous improvements for best teaching methods, maintaining high standards of academic excellence, moral training and co-curricular activities. Ave Maria graduates obtain very good academic results and attend prestigious schools such as Wesley Girls, Achimota School, Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High, Legon, Aburi Girls, St. Augustine’s College, St. Roses Senior High, Adisadel College and Holy Child.
