Overview

Founded in 1955, Ghana International School’s (GIS) mission is “to provide an internationally diverse school experience that instills an understanding of each other, promotes holistic development, life skills and learning through a rigorous curriculum that meets international standards”. GIS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the Council of International Schools and Cambridge Assessment International Education. GIS provides students aged 3 to 18 years with a diverse and rich school experience in a multicultural setting and a firm foundation for a future life as a responsible global citizen. Dedicated staff are working at each level of the school to meet the learning needs of individual students including children with special needs. GIS has a wide range of co-curricular clubs, community service, internship and work shadow programs, which provide pre-university training and college preparation skills. GIS graduates typically attend top universities such as: Oxford, London School of Economics, Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Yale, University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and Ashesi University. Currently GIS has 1398 students representing 47 nationalities.
