Lycée Français International Jacques Prévert
East Legon
Accra
Overview
Founded in 1963, the Lycée Français Jacques Prévert d’Accra, LFA (The French School), offers a complete program from nursery school to the final year of high school. The LFA is the only accredited French educational institution in Ghana, and is part of the network of French establishments managed by the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad). The school is proud to be the key element of the educational cooperation of the French embassy in Ghana and serves as a link between France and Ghana. Students of all levels of French are welcome and students have the chance to evolve in a stimulating and bilingual environment. Newcomer students are fully integrated into the classroom with Francophone students to help accelerate language acquisition. The kindergarten program combines bilingual education, child development and learning in a multicultural and creative atmosphere. Early immersion in a bilingual environment is an effective way to help students achieve mastery and comfort with regard to language and culture. Children spend 70% of their time speaking French and 30% English. They interact with both languages throughout the day via structured activities, games or projects.
