Tema International School (TIS)

Tema International School (TIS) was founded in 2003 and provides a holistic education which complements the National Education System for children aged 3-19, from Kindergarten through Grade 12. TIS is an IB World School offering MYP (Grades 7-10) and DP (Grades 11,12). The new Primary School Campus is a Candidate for the PYP curriculum (preschool to Grade 6). Students are in a safe and supportive environment which promotes self-discipline, honesty, integrity and excellence in learning. In addition to various extracurricular activities, TIS Service learning complements the academics and gives students the opportunity to help the community, gain a deeper understanding and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility. TIS provides 4 hostels for boarders, an ultra-modern library, a large sports complex, tennis and squash courts and a semi-Olympic swimming pool. TIS is a green school and uses biogas, solar power, compost, cultivated herbs and vegetables and borehole filtered water. International teaching staff ensures students are exposed to global contexts and prepared for their roles as global Citizens. International experiences include language study trips to Spain and France. Graduates attend universities in Canada, Ghana, UK, USA, France, Ireland, South Africa, South Korea and more.
